Trek Session 8 29 GX Mountain Bike in Chameleon Green

Season:2026

Brand:Trek

Code:61330GRN

The Session 8 is a downhill mountain bike featuring a high-pivot suspension design that ensures speed, traction, and control on the most punishing runs.

This fast, traction-packed DH bike is built around a burly alloy frame. It features 200 mm rear travel with a Marzocchi Bomber shock, and a 200 mm RockShox Boxxer fork with a plush DebonAir+ spring and Rush RC damper. Stopping power is provided by powerful Maven Bronze 4-piston brakes, paired with a SRAM GX DH 7-speed drivetrain.

The Session’s suspension layout, featuring a high pivot and idler pulley, increases traction, carries more speed, and reduces pedal kickback for enhanced stability. Virtually zero pedal kickback means you will stay confidently planted and in control during descents, especially when landing jumps or drops. The high pivot design delivers a more efficient rearward axle path so you will carry more speed, and the wheel will not get hung up on obstacles.

The high-pivot design results in a rearward axle path that lets the back wheel move with the rearward force from bumps, not against it. On the trail, this feels like smoother suspension that maintains more forward momentum and provides more grip.

The bike comes stocked for speed with 29er wheels, but riders can run a mixed setup with a 27.5" rear wheel, or even 27.5" front and rear for more agility. With Mino Link adjustments on both geometry and suspension, you can easily tune the Session to a progressive feel for racing days or dial it back for park days.

Trek’s DH sizing system is based on reach, not rider height, which is the most important factor in a great downhill bike fit. The chainstay length, or rear centre, grows as the frame reach grows, ensuring balanced weight distribution no matter the frame’s size.

Features:

  • Burly alloy frame.
  • High-pivot suspension design with idler pulley.
  • Active Braking Pivot allows engineers to tune how the suspension reacts to acceleration and braking forces independently.
  • Reach-based sizing system for optimal fit.
  • Size-specific chainstay length.
