About us
Since 2003, our husband and wife team has been supplying the substantial bicycles and accessories needed to tackle the rigours of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains and the nearby manmade Cwmcarn Trails– this is fantastic mountain bike riding country!
We are both competitive cyclists and take part in events all over the UK and Europe – usually on Sundays and bank holidays when Gateway Cycles is not open.
Claire was an engineer in the Royal Navy before instructing in outdoor pursuits. She has been Welsh champion on several occasions in:-
Road racing
Mountain Bike
Cyclo- cross
Rich has 20 years experience in the cycle industry and has been mechanic on a pro road team. He was Welsh Cyclo-cross league champion, 2008 and has taken part in several Masters World Championships.
Our combined enthusiasm and knowledge has been an essential element in the creation of Gateway Cycles where we are able to offer friendly, helpful advice to those who wish to start enjoying this cycling pastime as much as we do.
Gateway Cycles is open Monday to Saturday, between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm and closed on Sundays and bank holidays when (*you’ve guessed it!) we are racing!
